Welcome to our new blog: Gen(der) Z
We are partnering with Priya Thelapurath, a high school senior in Bentonville, AR, to launch a new blog called Gen(der) Z. Instead of us trying to describe it, we decided to let Priya write and introduction:
Hi everyone,
My name is Priya Thelapurath and I am a senior in high school. I live in Bentonville, Arkansas, where I have been for the past 18 years. I have taken Sociology and Gender Studies courses at my local community college and will use my background to write for this blog.
Gen(der) Z aims to explore different social issues that Generation Z faces. I plan on conducting research and collecting data on various topics that are relevant to what this generation encounters. This blog will be focusing on the issues that specifically affect how gender and sexuality are perceived and addressed in contemporary western society. I will then discuss my findings here on this website.
The goal of Gen(der) Z is to offer a space for discourse on how gender and sexuality impact this generation and on how that differs from past generations. From analyzing stereotypes to describing personal stories, I hope to highlight the different experiences people face due to societal norms and traditional customs.
I look forward to the conversations this blog will spark. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or suggestions for future posts.
Excited to talk to you soon,
Priya
