Presented by Eva-Maria Graf, Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics, Alpen-Adria-Universität, Klagenfurt, this talk will address how gendered identities and ideologies are represented in Austrian L2 secondary school textbooks. The focus will be on methodological challenges faced by researchers looking into linguistic representations of gender and where to draw the line between “gender discourse” and “gendered discourse.”
