Kesicia Dickinson, PH.D.

Assistant Professor of Political Science and African American Studies

Kesicia A. Dickinson is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and African American Studies at the University of Mississippi. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University, along with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Jackson State University. Dr. Dickinson’s research focuses on the intersections of race, ethnicity, and gender identity, examining their influence on political behavior and mass public opinion, particularly in the United States. Her teaching interests align closely with her research, with recent courses exploring intersectionality and the political experiences and behaviors of African Americans. As an Isom Fellow, her research will take a qualitative approach to understanding Black women’s experiences as political candidates.
